Frequently Asked Questions
Balm Box offers three curated boxes, meant to address all stages of radiation treatment:
> Pre/Early: Radiation Essentials
> Middle: Radiation Rest
> End/Post Treatment: Radiation Recovery
You can create a gift subscription for any combination of two boxes, or all three boxes. You will be charged for all boxes in a single transaction when you complete your order.
Once you select the subscription package you wish to send, you can choose an order frequency. All gift subscriptions default to send boxes one week apart. However, for patients with longer treatment plans you can set up 2 or 3 week order frequencies. You can find those options in the “Details” section. Select the hot-link for the order frequency you would like, then add that package to your cart and complete the transaction.
That depends on the length of your planned radiation therapy. According to the Mayo clinic, “A common treatment schedule (course) includes one radiation treatment a day, five days a week (usually Monday through Friday), for about five to six weeks. Spreading out your sessions helps your healthy cells recover from radiation exposure while cancer cells die.” Some treatment schedules are shorter – some are longer. It depends on the patient and radiation oncologist.
Our recommendation is to set Radiation Essentials to arrive prior to or within the first 2 weeks of radiation therapy. Radiation Rest is meant to address mid-treatment side effects, with Radiation Recovery the end/post-treatment.
Therefore, our recommended frequency is as follows:
> 1-Week Frequency: For patients assigned 20 or fewer sessions (4 or fewer weeks)
> 2-Week Frequency: For patients assigned between 21 – 30 sessions (6 or fewer weeks)
> 3-Week Frequency: For patients assigned over 31 sessions (7 or more weeks)
Not yet! Currently, our focus is on radiation treatments which average 4-6 weeks. As we expand our services and look at additional ailments and treatment plans, we will consider additional box options.
