During radiation therapy, many radiation oncologists discourage the use of standard drugstore deodorants that contain aluminum. There are a variety of reasons, like concerns that the aluminum could interfere with radiation dosage, or that the interaction between radiation and aluminum could irritate sensitive radiated skin.
